We are seeking a passionate, resilient, and child-centred individual to join our team as a Responsible Individual ( RI) to provide strategic leadership and governance oversight for our children's residential home. The RI would be a dedicated leader who shares our commitment to delivering child-centred, trauma-informed, and therapeutic care that enables children to thrive.

About the Role
As the Responsible Individual, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring the home operates in accordance with:
- Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
- Quality Standards for Children's Homes
- Ofsted requirements
- Safeguarding legislation and guidance
- Company policies and procedures
You will provide strategic oversight, quality assurance, and support to the Registered Manager, ensuring children receive outstanding care in a safe, nurturing, and stable environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective oversight of the home's operation and performance.
- Support and challenge the Registered Manager to achieve excellent outcomes.
- Monitor compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Lead quality assurance processes, audits, and service improvement initiatives.
- Review Regulation 44 reports and oversee Regulation 45 quality reviews.
- Monitor safeguarding practices and ensure robust risk management.
- Support Ofsted inspections and registration requirements.
- Ensure children's voices are heard and influence service development.
- Build strong relationships with Local Authorities, commissioners, professionals, and families.
- Report to Directors on performance, quality, risks, and development opportunities.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Significant leadership experience within children's residential care or children's social care.
- Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
- Experience supporting or managing Ofsted-regulated services.
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Experience of quality assurance, auditing, and service improvement.
- Ability to provide effective leadership, support, and challenge.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
- Social Work qualification or equivalent professional qualification.
- Previous experience as a Responsible Individual.
- Experience of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.
